Hi everyone, I’m starting this GoFundMe for my sister-in-law, Katy, who recently suffered an intraparenchymal hemorrhage (a type of stroke). She’s only 35 years old, a loving mom to two amazing girls (Tegan and Mila) and one of the most joyful, fun, and positive people you could ever meet.
Right now, Katy is unable to walk or speak and has a long road of rehabilitation ahead. It’s hard to even put into words how much her life has changed in an instant.
At this point, it appears that Katy does have health insurance, though we’re still working to confirm exactly what her coverage includes. We’re moving forward with this fundraiser based on the understanding that insurance will likely help with some of the major medical costs, but that many other needs will still fall on the family. These include physical, occupational, and speech therapy sessions that may not be fully covered, accessibility changes to the home such as wheelchair ramps or medical equipment, and ongoing living expenses while she’s unable to work. Her girls are staying strong and doing their best, but this is a huge adjustment for all of them.
Anything you can give, big or small, will help relieve some of the financial stress so Katy can focus fully on healing.
And whether or not you’re able to give, please share this page and keep Katy, her daughters, and her entire family in your prayers.
Thank you all so much for your love and support. ❤️
