Kate's Ironman for Long-Term Hurricane Relief

Donation protected
Hi,

My name is Kate!

As most of you know, much of Western North Carolina and surrounding areas were completely devastated by Hurricane Helene.

As someone who is from NC, went to school at WCU, and spent many years in those mountains, I feel extremely passionate about doing something to help.

I have many friends and family members local to the area who currently are providing supplies and other means of relief, but I wanted to do something that could have a meaningful impact long term…after the initial devastation has worn off. Those communities are going to need help for years to come.

Because of this, I have decided to train for and complete an Ironman to raise money for relief in those areas. An Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run.

I will spend the next year training, and complete the Ironman in October of 2025. Over the next year, I will donate all proceeds raised to local charities monthly depending on where the money is needed the most.

Western NC was my home for 5 years of my life and the people of that area deserve our support. If you can donate, anything helps. If you can’t, please take a moment to share this. Your continual support over the next year will allow us to bring relief to an area and people that are desperately going to need it.
