Her Story

Kamne is now facing her third and most challenging battle with endometrial cancer. Diagnosed in 2021, she underwent surgery and intensive treatment, remaining in good spirits and recovering well. When the cancer returned in 2023, she faced another round of surgery and treatment with quiet strength and determination, leaning only on her closest circle for help. Each occurrence brought new physical and emotional challenges and additional toxic treatments requiring extensive recovery periods that made it difficult to work. Now, as she faces this second recurrence, she needs the support of her community more than ever.

Kamne is more than a beloved sister, aunt, and friend—she’s a lifelong giver. As a dedicated teacher, nonprofit leader, and artist, she has spent her life uplifting others, especially young people, with compassion and creativity. Her guiding principle has always been to leave every space and person better than she found them. Even now, Kamne continues to carry herself with quiet strength and humility. She has never asked for much, always striving to minimize the burden on her loved ones. But today, she needs the support of a wider community. Time is of the essence. Over the past two years she has undergone intensive treatments, including chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy, in addition to surgery.
