Hello! I'm Kal, a trans boat worker and educator who lives and works in the Chesapeake Bay. A few years ago, I moved away from my fundamentalist family to find myself and my independence on the other side of the country. I've traveled all over working seasonal jobs, but putting away savings while doing temp jobs has been a challenge.

I've finally attained an important goal in my gender journey and secured a surgeon for top surgery! I've tried for many years to pay for surgery through insurance, but as a seasonal deckhand, I will need to pay out of pocket for this. I've been putting away about 90% of my paychecks into savings, but I still need some help to pay my living expenses while I recover.

Raising $5,000 will ensure that I have enough money for food, housing, and follow-up appointments while I'm unable to do my very physical duties operating the ship I work on.
