NEW UPDATE 7-31-25 - Justin's Stroke Recovery Journey

First of all—thank you! We’ve been overwhelmed by the calls, texts, prayers, and messages asking how Justin’s injection went and how he’s doing. Your support truly means the world.

Since the injection, Justin has continued his physical therapy five days a week, and the results over the last six weeks have been incredibly encouraging. His therapists have all noticed clear improvements—he’s able to walk farther and longer with his walker and assistance, and he can now stand on his own for longer stretches. Every session, he gives it his all.

Justin’s care team believes that the next step in his progress is bringing therapy home with him. They’ve recommended a LiteGait 4 Home system—a piece of equipment that would allow him to safely practice walking and weight-bearing exercises multiple times a day, not just during scheduled PT sessions. It would help build strength, endurance, and confidence as he works toward walking on his own.

Unfortunately, the LiteGait is not covered by insurance, and it comes with a cost of around $8,000. But with this equipment, Justin could turn daily effort into even more meaningful progress.

Over four and a half years ago, our friend, Justin Torrance, had a massive stroke. Since then, he’s faced every challenge with grit, determination, and his trademark sense of humor. He’s never stopped working toward his goal: walking again—and knowing Justin, we have no doubt he’ll get there.

He’s currently doing physical therapy four times a week (most of it out of pocket), and now he’s discovered a promising new treatment that could bring him one step closer. It’s called Etanercept, and while it’s not FDA-approved for stroke recovery in the U.S., it’s gaining attention for its potential to reduce brain inflammation and restore function
