A Fresh Start for Me and My Son

Hello, my name is Justine and I’m a proud single mom to an amazing son, Anubis. Life has been a journey filled with challenges, but also resilience and hope. Today, I’m reaching out to ask for your help as we take a major step toward building a better future: moving into our very first apartment together.

I’ve worked hard to provide for my son and create a stable, loving environment for him. While our current situation has been a roof over our heads, it will come to an end on 12/20/2024 as the place I’m staying was illegally sublet to me and I’m forced to find somewhere to go by the date above. Recently, I’ve finally found a place where we can truly start fresh—an apartment where we can have our own space and feel secure, and where I can begin to build the foundation for a brighter future for us both.

The total cost to move in is $2,700, which includes the security deposit of $1,325 and the first month’s rent of $1,325. This is more than I can manage on my own. While I’ve saved what I can, the cost of living and supporting my son as a single parent has left me falling short of this goal. I am hoping to reach this goal before the apartment I found is rented to someone else as it is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and in my area, you don’t find rent as manageable as this. They come and they are gone just as fast.

This is why I’m asking for your support. Your contributions will go directly toward the security deposit, rent, and essentials we need to make this apartment our home. Even a small amount will make a world of difference and bring us closer to our dream.
