I’m sharing my story with vulnerability and urgency.

I’m a victim of serious financial exploitation, government benefit abuse, and threats to my safety. Someone I once trusted manipulated the Social Security system to gain control of my disability benefits and stole a legal settlement that was meant to help me rebuild my life.

This person became my representative payee without my knowledge or consent. They lied to Social Security and misrepresented my mental health, even going so far as to have me falsely institutionalized, claiming I was “crazy,” just to silence me and maintain control over my finances.

I recently went to the Social Security office and was devastated to learn that my SSI benefits were suspended. They told me that I was considered to have the “ability to care for myself” because of a settlement I had received — but that settlement was stolen by the same person who exploited me. I never saw the money, and I’ve been left with nothing.

The settlement was awarded to me after I was hit by a truck, which caused a severe head injury and led to my epilepsy diagnosis. This disability has changed my life permanently. I am unable to work right now, and I live in fear because when I confronted the person who stole my money, they threatened to harm me if I pursued legal action or kept asking for what was rightfully mine.

I’m raising funds to:

• Hire a lawyer to pursue justice and report SSI abuse

• Cover basic living expenses while I recover

• Pay for therapy and documentation to support my case

• Stay safe and stabilize my health

• Eventually return to work and regain my independence

Through everything, I’ve kept my faith in God. I believe He sees everything — even what happens in the dark — and that He will bring justice in His time. I know I’m not alone in this battle. I believe He is my protector, my provider, and my strength.
