Julie Vraspir Sager is warm, loving and a fierce friend. In fact, she has never met anyone that she didn’t call a friend. Or invite into her circle. And for those of us who have been lucky enough to meet her, our friendships have been lifelong.
In February of this year, Julie had a virus and her doctor ordered a routine xray. That xray revealed a tumor in her lung. And that tumor was metastatic melanoma.
Since that time, Julie has been caught up in the current of cancer. She has received chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She has experienced the gut wrenching side effects of those drugs. And her tumors have grown. And she has become sicker and sicker.
Julie had to quit her lifelong job as a preschool teacher. Scott, her beloved husband, has been unable to work as he did before, as caregiving, appointments, travel to Seattle, navigating insurance, physicians, and treatment options have consumed his time. And yet he is always supportive, kind and funny - making Julie smile.
Our Julie is currently in Seattle with family waiting for surgery to remove a tumor in her abdomen and to put her back on the path of immunotherapy and recovery.
Cancer is scary. It’s stressful. And it’s expensive. Loss of income, medical bills, and travel costs all add up - all while maintaining a home in Missoula.
We ask you to consider making a donation to support Julie. As much as we all wish we could take this cancer on with her, we can help ease her worry. Any contribution to create a fund of support would provide relief, allowing her to channel her energy into healing.
Let’s show her the generosity, love, and support she’s given so freely to so many over the years. If you can't donate monetarily please keep Julie in your thoughts, meditations, and prayers.
