As many of you know, my mom Joy beat breast cancer last year! She underwent extensive rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, ultimately becoming cancer free at the start of this year. In celebration of her beating cancer, she got to go on her long awaited vacation to Kona, Hawaii with her sisters and dad a few weeks ago. In Hawaii, my mom fell while on a hike and hurt her hip. She has been unable to walk without assistance and crutches since she fell. She received x-rays and scans that showed questionable areas in her hip that was possibly cancer and we had made plans to get additional scans to see what was going on. Unfortunately, yesterday she had another fall which landed her in the Emergency Room. We found out she broke her hip and the areas previously seen on her scans had gotten worse. Today my mom had a partial hip replacement to repair the fracture and the doctor was able to scrape out all of the cancer in the bones. We are hopeful that this surgery got all of the cancer. She will likely undergo more rounds of radiation and scans to make sure that there is no remaining cancer left. (Fingers crossed!!!)

Any money raised will go towards previous and upcoming hospital bills, travel to appointments, etc.
