Journey Ward's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
July 20, 2024, Journey Ward was hit by a car while riding her motorcycle home. Speculating this was a hit-and-run by a careless and possibly drunk driver in a residential area. Journey has had a passion for dirtbikes and motorcycles since she was a little girl, and is a very safe rider. It is very devastating to find out someone hit her while she was on her way home.
Fortunately, an ambulance was called so that she could be rushed to Denver Health immediately. By the grace of God, we are all so grateful that she is alive. However she will have a long and challenging road to recovery. Journey has suffered some very serious injuries, including multiple breaks in major bone groups, head trauma, and internal bleeding. The medical team has said this will require multiple surgeries to fix over the coming days. We are praying that everything goes smoothly. She has just come out of her first surgery in order to repair her left arm, pelvis and elbow. She is currently stable, and we are so lucky to have such a good surgical team nearby. Her parents caught a flight out of Nashville and was able to be there for the 8 hour surgery.
Journey started school this year, studying to be a holistic practitioner, and is very passionate about helping others achieve their optimal physical and spiritual health. I've started this gofundme to help support her mom (my step sister) and dad's efforts to travel from Kentucky to Colorado to assist in her recovery. Journey has a long road ahead of her and funds will also help with medical bills and basic needs.
Any amount given to help support this beautiful young lady and her healing is very appreciated by her parents Jill Parker and Matthew Ward. All proceeds will go directly to her parents to assist Journey. Your continued prayers are appreciated.
