I am here to share my personal journey—a story of perseverance, misdiagnoses, and the financial challenges that have come as a result of my medical condition. In the past year, I began experiencing unexplained swelling in my right foot. Initially, I attributed it to something as simple as the wrong type of steel-toe shoes. However, as time progressed, the swelling became worse. After months of seeking medical advice, undergoing a series of tests, and enduring multiple misdiagnoses, I was finally diagnosed with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), lymphedema in both legs, and a superficial blood clot in my left leg.

What should have been a straightforward path to treatment turned into a frustrating and costly process. Several doctors dismissed my symptoms, provided incorrect diagnoses, and prescribed ineffective treatments. It wasn’t until I sought care at Houston Methodists' Debakey Heart and Vascular Institute that I received the proper evaluations, including ultrasounds, CT scans, and extensive blood work. Ultimately, I was admitted to the ER, where I was told that my condition required immediate and long-term medical attention.

In addition to the physical pain and challenges, my legs have developed persistent shaking and twitching—an issue that is worsening over time. This has raised further concerns, prompting additional medical assessments that continue to strain my financial resources.

Due to my health condition, I have been placed on extended medical leave, utilizing all of my sick and vacation time. With no income and mounting medical expenses—including specialist visits, emergency room stays, diagnostic tests, and prescribed treatments—I have depleted my savings. Just as I was preparing to return to work, my medical evaluation prevented me from passing my physical, resulting in an additional two months of required rest and treatment.

I have never been one to ask for help, but today, I am in a position where I must. I am seeking financial support to cover ongoing medical expenses, hospital fees, and basic living costs while I recover.
