Hi everyone, my name is Joshua Smothers. I am 34 years old, and I am trying to raise funds to help me take a driver's test to get my driver's license to get a good-paying job.

I have a driver's license, but it has a restriction on it that requires me to have a licensed driver 21 years old or older to ride with me. I can take a driver's test, pass, and get that restriction removed. If I do that, I have a security guard job literally waiting on me that pays $17 an hour that I have secured.

I need to do this quickly because I am taking care of my disabled mom, who has had multiple strokes, seizures, and requires surgery on her colon and hernia. I need to get this job to help pay for her medical bills and other expenses that will help us live. I have helped take care of her for years, but when my dad passed away last September, life has gotten very hard. In February, we had to leave my brother's house because he yelled in my mom's face and hit her. So, we had to get out of that environment. Now, we are flat broke, and I can't afford to pay for this driving test. I have tried applying for over 90+ jobs on Indeed, and no one has hired me. I have missed out on 4 different security jobs due to not having a non-restricted driver's license. So, I need this badly. We aren't going to make it financially or my mom medically unless I can ultimately get this job.

It costs so much because a driver's school near me charges $125 for the test and to use their car for the test. I don't have a car to take the test in. Then It costs $33 for the actual driver's license.
