Help Joe and Tara Through This Long Road to Recovery
My brother Joe has been fighting for his life since January. Joe spent about seven months at the Cleveland Clinic and on 21 July, was offered a liver and kidney transplant. He had major heart and liver surgery, and he’s has been struggling to recover since his surgery at Cleveland Clinic. It’s been a grueling journey—physically, emotionally, and financially.
Through it all, his wife, Tara, has been by his side. She's been spending most of her time at a hotel in Cleveland to support Joe while continuing to work remotely. She has a wonderful daughter Madeline and their granddaughter at home in South Bend to care for as well. She is also managing their household on a single income due to Joe's extended illness. Her strength has been nothing short of heroic—but let's be honest, she need our help.
In the past few months, life has continued to pile on. One of their two cars broke down, their washing machine gave out, and hotel bills from months of stays near the hospital have stacked up. And with Joe unable to work, the loss of income is being deeply felt.
Tara has been doing everything—keeping Joe’s spirits up, updating all of us who love him, and holding it all together. But the financial strain is becoming overwhelming.
We’re hoping to raise $30,000 to help cover:
* Ongoing medical co-pays
* Months of hotel and travel expenses
* Car repairs and essential home needs
* Lost income during Joe’s recovery
If there’s ever been a moment to lift up this incredible couple, it’s now. Any amount—large or small—will help lighten their load and allow them to focus on what matters most: healing.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, your generosity, and your love. Let’s rally around Joe and Tara and remind them they’re not alone.
