Hi! My name is "Jinu" and my new mom needs some help with my vet bill. My story started the end of August when my mom's friend called and said that they had found a kitty from the street that could not use his legs. (That's me!) She scooped me up and brought me to the animal hospital she works at to see if I had a microchip. Turns out I did not have a microchip or an owner since my ear was clipped. I must have been a TNR(trap/neuter/release) kitty from a neighborhood colony. I started purring as soon as she gave me some pets and I was the best boy for my exam and x-rays. The x-ray showed I had been shot with a pellet gun and the bullet was lodged in my thoracic spine and had fractured my scapula on the way there. Even though I was in pain I loved anyone who gave me attention. I stayed in the hospital on pain meds and antibiotics for a few days until the neurologist could examine me. Then I got a CT scan and surgery to remove the bullet on September 4th. Right after surgery I started to move my legs again! It's been 1 month since surgery and I continue to improve everyday at home with my new mom. She expresses my bladder twice a day since I still can't feel when I need to go. I can kick, step up, and stretch my leggies with help but I'm not able to walk on all 4 legs yet. My doctor says I need some rehab to start exercising and help me get my muscle mass back.
If you could donate or share my story it would make my mom so happy and help her to keep helping more animals in the future.
Thank you!
Jinu
