Surprise news about my health - in 2 weeks, now December 16 , I am having major heart surgery at Tufts Boston Medical.

Many of you helped me back in 2018 when I was paralyzed from a spinal abscess infection. I was sick for 9 months and then spent 3 months in the hospital at NYU Langone.

I've spent the past 7 years recovering, doing regular rehab, walking with a cane, and staying active in my communities.

Recent medical tests have discovered that I have complete blockage in the 3 arteries that feed my heart. All year I've had fatigue and memory issues. Now I know why.

December 16th, I'm scheduled for CABG open heart bypass surgery. I will be in the hospital for at least a week (Tufts Boston) and will have several months of recovery and rehab this winter.

My family is supportive.

I love my wife Pixie. Today we are celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. Our daughter Georgia is a merit scholarship student in CUNY graduate school - Masters of Fine Art program - at City College in Harlem, Manhattan, NYC.

I'm facing unexpected medical expenses and am asking friends and past supporters to give again.

We made it this far - it's quite unbelievable that in 2018 I was paralyzed and in ICU for 6 weeks. Thank you for your support then.

I feel like this is the next chapter in my recovery. I need help to get through the surgery and recovery this winter.
