Donate to Jim and Beatriz's New Beginning

I am reaching out to share the story of my parents, Jim and Beatriz Flanagan, as they are about to embark on a life-changing surgical journey with the healing hands of God guiding them every step of the way.

For the past 2 years, my father Jim has been battling a kidney disease called IGA (immunoglobulin neuropathy) which eventually led to kidney failure, requiring him to undergo dialysis since 2020. Witnessing the physical and emotional toll that dialysis takes on my father has been incredibly difficult for our family. Despite his outgoing and energetic nature, he comes home from treatment in pain and agony, and it breaks my heart to see him in such distress.

In a true display of love and selflessness, my mother Beatriz decided to take matters into her own hands and explore the possibility of becoming a living kidney donor for my father. After months of testing and uncertainty, we received the incredible news that she was a perfect match for him. The relief and hope that washed over our family when we received this news was indescribable.

On January 21st, my parents will undergo the life-changing surgery that will offer my father a chance at a new beginning, free from the constraints of dialysis. While my family is committed to supporting them during their recovery, the financial burden of not being able to work during this time will be challenging for them. We humbly ask for any support or generosity from those willing to provide assistance.
