Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with some difficult news about my sister Jess. While visiting Jamaica, she ate something bad and it caused a severe bacterial infection. She developed dangerously high fevers, severe vomiting and dehydration.

She was almost deemed not fit to fly which would have had her stuck in Jamaica. Thankfully, she was able to return to the United States but she’s now hospitalized in Texas and receiving heavy-duty antibiotics, IV fluids, and electrolyte treatments, etc. Right now, the hospital she's at not does not have an expected discharge date because of severity of the infection.

On top of the stress of being sick so far from home, Jess is facing another huge worry: medical bills. Because she’s out-of-network, her medical insurance shes has in Hawaii WILL NOT COVER ALL THE MEDICAL COSTS ACCRUED IN TEXAS— and anyone who’s ever seen a hospital bill knows how quickly costs can skyrocket.

Jess would never ask for help herself, but I know how much she means to so many people. If you’re able, any donation — big or small — would go directly toward her hospital expenses, medications, and recovery costs. Even sharing this page helps more than you know.
