HEY! I'm Jessie, a trans FtM individual living in Detroit, Michigan, and I've got until about early autumn to raise enough money to cover the cost of recovery for my upcoming top surgery/chest masculinizing surgery.

Top surgery is maybe the most important surgery of my life. It will be life-affirming. It will be pain-reducing. It will make me feel capable of existing. So while I'm absolutely panicking about having the money to access recovery, this is an incredibly exciting and cautiously hopeful time for me.

My recovery costs mostly consist of everyday expenses that I won't be able to cover on my own while I'm off work post-surgery. So that's medical supplies, rent, bills, pet care (I have two cats <3), groceries, and the ridiculous amount of food delivery I'll need to solicit while I can't cook or pick up anything that weighs more than a few pounds. I also have a history of taking a bit longer than is typical to heal/bounce back, so I'm anticipating needing a bit more than the surgeon-estimated 6 weeks to get back to work.
