This is my friend Jessie and she needs our help. She has been working and overcoming….now she needs to rest and heal from her three necessary cancer surgeries without having to also work and overcome.

Jessie was a stay at home mom when her marriage abruptly ended. She found herself with little work history to utilize and two boys to take care of. Family helped as much as they could and she found herself a job, improved her skills, got multiple promotions, and was able to transition to an entirely new career with more stability and room for growth. She has since excelled in her position and has earned job security.

While she was working and growing, she found out that she is genetically predisposed to 5 different kinds of cancer, including breast, and she began taking preventative care steps. Unfortunately, through the process, it was discovered that she does have cancer and needs three surgeries. The surgeries aren’t the only cost as we still don’t know if she will need radiation or chemotherapy after the surgeries and has ongoing weekly appointments to monitor the cancer’s progression while surgeries and recovery times are being dealt with.

She is able to swing her living expenses because she is savvy and will receive a portion of her income from short-term disability insurance while she is unable to work. This would be hard but doable….the medical co-pays and deductibles are not doable. We are out of options.

In other words, life is a lot. We recognize that we are under resourced for this situation. We are asking for help because sometimes, even when you do everything right and try your best, you need help. Please consider being a part of that help. Thank you.
