Help Me Fight Mucormycosis.

My name is Jessica G., and I am a 50-year-old who is suffering from mucormycosis (https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/mucormycosis), an invasive disease caused by a rare but serious fungal infection, Rhizopus. I was diagnosed during the year 2023 with this disease. It is unclear where I contracted the infection that has now entered an invasive disease status.

I am a single mother of two adult sons (33 & 29) and one young child, who is 9 years old. I am currently struggling to continue working. I am insured, but the medication is $9,000 AFTER insurance. The treatment is 3 weeks. Due to the high cost, I am struggling to afford the medication I need to cure this disease. I attempted to apply for a financial hardship directly with the pharmaceutical company but was denied. I also tried several discount prescription cards, but they did not offer a lower cost.

My mental and physical health have deteriorated immensely over the years as I have been sick for close to 6 years now. The disease has spread from my lungs to my sinuses and organs. I have had to go on emergency medical leave twice during 2024. I fear the disease will spread to my bloodstream and brain.
