On behalf of Southwest Florida Professional Firefighters and Paramedics, Local 1826, we
are heartbroken to share the sudden loss of one of our own—Lee County EMS EMT Jessica
Sanchez.
Jessica’s impact on our community was immeasurable. Before joining Lee County EMS in
2023, she served as a volunteer firefighter with Alva Fire Department, always answering the
call to serve others. Many of our local responders met her while she worked in the
emergency room in Fort Myers, where she cared for countless patients with the same
compassion and dedication that defined her life.
Jessica was more than an EMT—she was a mother, a sister, a daughter, a partner and a friend
to many. Her kindness, strength, and unshakable positivity touched everyone she met,
whether for just a moment or a lifetime.
The outpouring of grief and love from across all departments shows just how deeply
Jessica’s presence was felt. The common theme in every story shared about her is the
same—Jessica brought light, energy, and friendship wherever she went.
This fundraiser has been established to support Jessica’s family during this devastating
time. Donations will go directly to her son for the future and any unforeseen challenges that
come in the aftermath of such a tragic loss.
We ask that you please consider donating and sharing this page to honor Jessica’s legacy of
service, love, and compassion. Your generosity will help lift some of the burden from her
family as they navigate the difficult days ahead.
Thank you for keeping Jessica, her family, and all the brothers and sisters who served
alongside her in your hearts and prayers.
Rest in peace, Jessica. You will never be forgotten
