I have never really talked about our baby son Jeremiah Jr and his health. When he was born, he was diagnosed with the #1 genetic blood disorder in the world, Sickle Cell Disease. He was also born with multicystic dysplastic kidney; he only had one kidney. He dealt with complications from Sickle Cell his entire life, but he eventually started having kidney problems with his one kidney because of Sickle Cell complications.
By his junior year in high school, he had kidney disease because of Sickle Cell and he went on peritoneal dialysis. Because of complications from this type of dialysis, he was in the ICU and near death for over 7 days. When he was finally released, he had to go on hemo-home dialysis. His senior year in high school, he was doing home dialysis 4 days a week, plus going to school and also still dealing with Sickle Cell Disease. He fought and graduated. He continued to do dialysis and he finally got the call once he was put on the kidney transplant list and made active on June 7, 2025, and he got the transplant on June 9, 2025, but the journey still goes on.
God (Jesus) is keeping us in our right mind and keeping him in his right mind. I don't have enough time to type all that we as a family have been through because of SCD and Kidney Disease. Thank you to everybody that is helping us by donating, to help us raise $10,000 or more that will help us with lodging, travel, food, and more, because we had to leave our state to do the kidney transplant.
