Dearest Friends,
I'm Annie McCreary, Jenn Palmer's sister. I believe that most of you reading this right now have been touched by Jenn in some way. If you have, you’ve experienced what a kind and compassionate soul she is.
Now, our sweet Jenn needs some help. She has battled an illness in silence for several years. At the end of August, she will undergo an invasive intestinal surgery. If all goes according to plan, she will have a 7 day hospital stay and at least a 6 week recovery.
Due to her illness, she has lost several months of income. She has always worked very hard, 3 jobs, at times. This illness has set her back financially and will be very difficult to bounce back from without the support of friends and family. We are asking for financial support to help with her medical expenses related to this illness and her basic living needs during her recovery. (i.e. rent, cobra insurance premium, auto insurance, health insurance deductibles, medications, surgery expenses, etc…)
Jenn was born with magnetic energy that people are drawn to. Her fiery copper curls, red lips, and her voice are the initial eye catchers, but it’s really her kindness and compassion that makes her so beautiful. She’s the person everyone wants to talk to. Complete strangers will seek her out and tell her their life stories or personal traumas and they’ll both end up hugging and crying in the middle of the Flea Market.
She has been a caregiver most of her life. As a teenager, she cared for our father after his multiple heart surgeries and took him into her home during the last years of his life. When our mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer and required multiple surgeries and years of chemo treatments, Jenn played a huge part in mom’s daily care until mom’s unfortunate passing.
Lastly, most of you know about Jenn’s sweet daughter Maddie who was born with Neuro Fibromatosis, a fatal genetic disorder. Jenn spent 6 years managing Maddie’s illness through multiple grueling brain surgeries and treatments until Maddie passed away in 2004 at the age of 6.
Through all of her life’s tragedies she has kept a soft heart, remained compassionate, and has continued to help others in need. Multiple friends and families have had Jenn by their sides offering post-op care or end of life companionship.
Only people who have walked through pain and suffering like she has can possess her depth of empathy. Now is the time when the caregiver needs to be cared for.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for anything you are willing to give. We also ask for your prayers and good healing thoughts. Please send them her way.
Much Love,
Annie & Family
