Donate to Jenn: A Community's Call for Support

Over the last few years, Jenn hasn’t been heard from often. There are many reasons why, mainly because the business of raising five children is hands-on. The work of parenting, however, has become much more complicated for Jenn.

We all know who Jenn is. She’s the one who supported us in our determination as young parents. Jenn was there cheering us on and she never once made you feel less than for making your own choices. She acknowledges, appreciates, and respects the rights of everyone, regardless of whether it serves her. Jenn embodies community and shows up for those she loves.

It has become clear over the last few years that Jenn will be required to continue to carry the bulk of the duties of parenting the children, the fruit of her 20-year marriage. Jenn spent the majority of her marriage raising their children. As parents, they made these types of family decisions together, including advancing the other parent through multiple graduate degrees throughout their five kids' toddler and elementary years.

The reality is that now, less than three years post-divorce, Jenn is left with the remainder of her minor children while their other parent moves to another state. She is managing the needs of the kids, mentally and otherwise, amidst personal emergencies that are most truthfully remedied by financial support.

First and foremost, Jenn needs reliable transportation. She desperately needs a vehicle that does not require constant maintenance, and we all know what the vehicle market has been like as of late. Her most recent vehicle would cost more to fix than it is worth. She’s utilizing all available resources, but Jenn needs to be able to access mental health and other medical care for the kids. Sadly, with their current insurance plan, the closest care for them is more than 30 miles away.

When it comes down to it, Jenn does all she does by herself. She doesn’t have many safety nets that most of us lean on in times like this. She doesn’t have backup.

A lot of us know or have known Jenn for a long time. She’s shown up for us. She’s been a cheerleader, a support, a helper with a heart for service. She needs her community now more than ever. Share, donate, send her words of love, but most importantly, Jenn hopes you always stand up for your kids and for one another.
