On October 9, 2025, my dad, Jeffrey Tahvonen, was struck by an SUV on his way to work in Dallas, Texas. The accident resulted in a dislocated left shoulder, a broken left leg, a sprained right foot, and some other less serious injuries. My dad went through emergency surgery, was hospitalized for six (6) days, and is now in a skilled nursing facility for the foreseeable future. He has lost his income and ability to work and faces a long and intensive recovery process to return to some version of his life before this accident.

While we are focused on his health and recovery, the financial stress of the situation is overwhelming. I am trying to cover the basic costs of living his income would have otherwise provided for (rent/utilities). Unfortunately, his employer does not offer short-term disability, and other financial assistance is very limited, though being explored at this time.

We are humbly asking for help to cover the cost of rent and utilities for the next three (3) months. This relief would grant my dad the peace of mind he needs to focus completely on rehabilitation and recovery without the fear of losing his home.

Our goal was calculated to cover three (3) months of essential living expenses, and every dollar raised will go directly toward my dad's affairs.
