My name is Jean Luordo and I suffer from diabetes, hypertension, and End Stage Renal Disease. I've been on dialysis for approximately 2 years, waiting to be put on the kidney transplant list. Due to my declining health, I am currently on disability. My husband, Mike, had to leave his place of employment in February to take care of me full-time as my unpaid caregiver. I do have a nurse and a physical therapist coming once a week to assist me. I have limited abilities taking care of my daily needs. Mike cooks all the meals, keeps the apartment clean and does laundry. I help at times, when I have the strength. I am weak most days but pray for healing. I refuse to claim this illness. God is much greater than any disease and I am under His care!!! So....that being said,God has opened up the opportunity for us to move back to Lansing, IL, which would be closer to our family and home church. We're currently on the 3rd floor, which is difficult for me to do as for the new apartment is on the ground level. Which is a blessing. Living in our current apartment has been a blessing but also filled with problems. There have been problems with the cleanliness of the building and other things for several months and the past few years. It has literally been a nightmare and have been praying for something better. Preferably back home in Lansing near family and our church.
We are existing on my monthly disability check, which is barely enough to cover our monthly living expenses. We are raising funds to help cover moving expenses, such as an affordable moving company and first and last month's rent. We calculate our total moving cost to be approximately $3600. We have been able to save and acquire a good portion but are still short approximately $1500. Our projected moving date is June 15th or sooner. We pray that our message finds a way to your heart and you can donate to our cause. We have been looking and praying for this exact opportunity for over a year. Then, without warning, through God, it presented itself. All of the paperwork necessary for this move has been filed. The only thing left is securing the funds needed.We ask for $5,$10,$25,etc would help reach our goal. Sharing our story and prayers are also a way to help.We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus.
