Dear Friends and Family,
With love and humility, I’m reaching out to ask for your financial support during a challenging, transitional period in my life. As many of you know, I recently completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health, specializing in Art Therapy and Trauma. While I’m excited to begin what I know will be a fulfilling and meaningful career as an art therapist, my immediate financial situation is unfortunately feeling precarious.
For the month of October, I’m taking a much-needed mental health break to reset and recover from burnout before beginning my new role in November as a full-time associate therapist at a local Seattle group practice. However, it will take time to build a full caseload, and in the meantime, my income will be limited. Additionally, I’m unsure how long my federal student loans will remain deferred, given the current uncertainty around income-driven repayment plans like SAVE, PAYE, and REPAYE.
To help cover my basic living expenses—rent, utilities, and necessities—I’ve created this Graduation and Financial Stabilization Fund. This fund will provide a buffer as I navigate this transition and work toward regaining financial stability.
I know many in my community are facing greater hardships, including medical bills, housing insecurity, and urgent needs. Please know that I don’t take this request lightly, and I’m only asking for what you might offer as a small gesture of support—whether it's in lieu of a celebratory gift, meal, a drink, or just a little something else you can spare!
I deeply appreciate any help you can offer. More than anything, I hope we can reconnect soon, even if it's just for a hug. I’ve been on a very long journey, and I’m looking forward to regaining my full self—both personally and professionally—very soon.
Thank you so much for your time, care, and support,
Sincerely,
Jaynie
