Support Jay King's Recovery from Strokes
Donation protected
My name is Mary King. I'm using this platform to raise funds for my oldest brother Jay King. Jay had a stroke about in April 2025. He is very fortunate to have survived and we're optimistic about his ability to recovery. Prior to this stroke he had several mini strokes (TIAs.) Our Dad had many TIAs before suffering a major stroke that left him unable to speak for 4 years and then another major stroke left him bed ridden. He died of sepsis in a nursing home. Jay's stroke was an emotional trigger for us all. Three years to the date after losing our Dad, we lost our Mom to end stage emphysema.
Jay will be unable to work for the forseeable future and won't be able to drive for at least another 60 days. Thankfully Jay's daughter Irelyn is staying with him. Our sister Elizabeth has exhausted all the non-profits with no luck for funds for Jay.
Jay is known by many in San Antonio from his years bartending at Maggie's, Poly's, Sam's Burger Joint, Wild West and most well known for managing Sneakers.
Jay's most recent profession has been home inspections. Now he definitely cannot get up on roofs or climb in attics for the forseeable future. Getting on disability is going to take awhile.
If you know Jay, you know how much he LOVES Iron Maiden. The "things" he loves more than Iron Maiden are his 4 kids: Brittany, Irelyn, Landrie and Liam. Liam has re-energized Jay's zest for life. Liam is all boy all the tine and on the go if he's awake.
I'm trying to raise funds for Jay's bills so he can keep his blood pressure down and keep his stress down.
In addition to household bills, Jay is stacking up medical bills for his hospital visit and rehab and follow up care.
I promise every penny given to me in Jay's name will go to Jay.
While giftcards are great; we appreciate all that he has received to date. Jay really needs cash flow.
If you have any questions, please reach out!
Thank you to those who have already donated!
