Help My Dad After Hurricane Helene
Hi, my name is Malysha MacFarland, and I am fundraising for my father, Jasper MacFarland, who lost everything during Hurricane Helen in Clearwater Beach, Florida.
On the night of the hurricane, my dad tried to evacuate, but the hotel refused to let him stay because of his dog, Azula. He returned home with no other options, hoping the storm wouldn’t be as bad as predicted. Unfortunately, the storm surge brought in massive flooding, with water rising past his refrigerator. He and Azula had to float on his mattress, waiting for rescue.
I spoke to him that night, and he thought it was the end. I contacted the Clearwater Police for search and rescue, but they couldn’t reach him due to the high water. Thankfully, his friend, Matthew Flora, risked his life to rescue my dad. He broke into the house with a jet ski and took my dad and Azula to safety at a nearby parking building. My dad survived, and for that, I am so incredibly grateful.
But now, my dad has lost his home and everything he owns. He is starting from scratch; any help you can offer will go a long way. Your donation will help him cover immediate needs like temporary shelter, clothing, food, and a new place to live.
Thank you so much for your generosity and helping my dad and Azula get back on their feet.
