On August 16th, Jason Speer was involved in a major bicycle accident. He was riding with a good friend who we are fortunate was with him. He suddenly collapsed and was unconscious with no heartbeat. His friend riding with him was impacted by his fall but nonetheless started CPR immediately. After being taken to the hospital, it was learned that Jason had to have his heart shocked and discovered he had 3 total blockages, one being the widow maker artery. After stabilizing him, placing 2 stents, he was sedated and placed on a vent to help him recover and rest.

Jason is married to Melanie Speer and both are known and widely involved in the Carrollton community. Jason and Melanie are both independently employed, and Jason may have recently done a home project or fixed your plumbing! Melanie, also self-employed, has selflessly volunteered to homeschool her adopted little brothers who Jason is richly involved with as well.

Because they are self-employed, the hospital bills are not covered by insurance, and their life will be on pause for a while with the type of work they have been doing.

We wanted to come together as a community and help them with medical and living expenses to help this wonderful couple. Please know that every penny will be given to them. Every dollar counts.
