Help JaQuale Ransom Fight for Her Health, Her Family, and Her Future

My name is JaQuale Ransom, and I’m a 27-year-old fiancée, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and passionate educator working with K–3 students as a literacy interventionist. Teaching isn’t just my job — it’s my purpose, a gift, and a passion that fills my heart every single day. I don’t just teach reading; I nuture growth, confidence, and the future in every student who walks into my classroom. My students are like seeds, and I pour every ounce of myself into helping them bloom.
But behind the scenes, I’ve been fighting for my life.

My Health Journey: From Pregnancy to Survival
My health battle began in 2018, when I was pregnant with my first son. What should have been a joyful time quickly turned scary when I learned that my bone marrow was functioning like that of an 80-year-old male — and I was only 21.
Three years later, I was pregnant with my second son when I was diagnosed with type two achalasia, a rare and debilitating disorder of the esophagus. For six long months, I couldn’t eat, drink, or even keep medication down. Everything I swallowed came right back up. I was malnourished and completely underweight (weighing 97lbs).
At 25 weeks pregnant, I was rushed to the hospital. A feeding tube was inserted into my stomach, but due to complications, my son was born prematurely at just 27 weeks via emergency C-section. He spent months in the NICU fighting for his life — and I spent those same months trying to recover and be there for him.
Since then, we’ve both endured hospital visits, surgeries, and countless sleepless nights. Through it all, I’ve continued to show up — for my sons, my students, and my community.

Why I’m Asking for Help Now
My current battle is with my dental health, which has deteriorated as a result of my past medical trauma and prolonged periods of malnutrition. My teeth are now severely decayed and infected, and my gums are inflamed and painful. I need full dental extraction and dentures to restore my health, my smile, and my quality of life.
Even with insurance, the cost of the procedures is overwhelming. That’s why I’m turning to you — my community, my village — to help me get through this next chapter.

How You Can Help
I am choosing life. I’m choosing to heal, not just for myself, but for my children, my students, and every life I touch.
If you feel led to help in any way — whether it’s through a donation, a prayer, or by sharing this page — please know that you are a part of my journey and my healing.
Every dollar helps. Every share matters.
Every act of kindness gives me the strength to keep fighting.

What Your Funds Will Be Used For

Your generosity means the world to me, and every dollar will go directly toward helping me regain my health and stability for my family. Here's how the funds will be used:

Medical Expenses: Doctor visits, lab work, medications, and all out-of-pocket treatments that are essential to my healing journey.
Specialist Care: Accessing specialists who understand my condition and can provide long-term care and solutions.
Holistic and Nutritional Support: Supplements, natural treatments, and dietary resources to support my recovery.
Transportation to Appointments: Gas to go into vehicle for medical visits and therapies.
Childcare Assistance: Help with safe, trusted care for my child when I’m attending appointments or when I’m not physically able to fully care for them.
Living Expenses During Recovery: Rent, utilities, and groceries during times I’m unable to work due to my health.
Emergency Support: To help with unexpected medical or life emergencies that may come up along the way.

This isn’t easy to ask for, but I believe in the power of community and hope. Your support is not just financial—it’s emotional, and it helps keep me going.

Thank you for reading my story, for caring, and for standing with me.
With love and gratitude, JaQuale Ransom
