Hi, my name is Chase Schurger, and I’m raising funds for my 15-year-old brother, Jackson Schurger. He was born with Proximal Focal Femoral Deficiency (PFFD), a rare condition that caused his right leg to be shorter than his left.

Jackson has already endured many surgeries, and thanks to your generous support, he recently saw Dr. Robbins for a check-up, where a provisional treatment plan was created.

The next procedure is a knee stabilization (ACL) surgery. Because this is specialized treatment, Jackson must travel to West Palm Beach, Florida, where he will need to stay for approximately eight weeks for surgery, recovery, and physical therapy.

After that, he is expected to undergo a limb lengthening surgery on his right leg to help improve mobility, reduce long-term pain, and help him walk more comfortably and wear regular shoes.

Even with insurance, our family faces about $60,000 in costs for these two treatments — covering co-pays, living expenses for Jackson and a caregiver during recovery, lost wages, shoe lifts, and doctor visits.
