Hi, my name is Irwing Maldonado Hernandez, and I’m reaching out with all my heart to ask for your help.

I’ve been living with stage 5 kidney failure for over a year and a half. I’m currently on dialysis 7 days a week for 10 hours a day just to stay alive. It’s exhausting, both physically and emotionally, but I’m holding on to hope.

The good news is that I’ve been accepted onto the kidney transplant list at Loyola Medical Center. But the journey is far from over. The cost of a kidney transplant is overwhelming—between surgery, post-transplant medication, and recovery time, the financial burden is crushing. On top of that, I’m struggling to cover my rent and basic living expenses while managing my health full-time.

That’s why I’m asking for your support. I’m trying to raise $150,000 to help cover:

• Transplant surgery and hospital care

• Anti-rejection medications

• Rent and living expenses while I recover

Hola, mi nombre es Irwing Maldonado Hernández, y con mucha humildad te pido tu ayuda.

Desde hace un año y medio he estado viviendo con fallo renal en etapa 5. En este momento dependo de la diálisis 7 días a la semana, 10 horas al día, solo para seguir con vida. Es algo muy duro física y emocionalmente, pero sigo con fe y esperanza.

La buena noticia es que ya estoy en la lista de espera para un trasplante de riñón en el Loyola Medical Center. Pero el camino no ha terminado. El costo del trasplante es altísimo—entre la cirugía, medicamentos después del trasplante y el tiempo de recuperación, la carga económica es muy fuerte. Además, estoy teniendo dificultades para pagar mi renta y los gastos básicos mientras me concentro en mi salud.

Por eso estoy pidiendo tu apoyo. Estoy tratando de recaudar $150,000 dólares para cubrir:

• Cirugía de trasplante y hospitalización

• Medicamentos inmunosupresores

• Renta y gastos básicos mientras me recupero
