Donate to Improve Gaylynn's Quality of Life

My name is Brian Glass and I write to you as a humbled man and husband with a beautiful wife in need. For those that don't know, my wife, Gaylynn Glass, was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and POTS seven years ago. The easiest way I can explain her condition is when she goes from a lying position to a standing position, her blood pressure reaches stroke level, and her heart rate will increase 30-60 beats per minute in just a few seconds. Her brain is telling her heart that the brain isn't getting enough blood, so her heart goes into overdrive so that the brain isn't starved of blood and oxygen. This creates a multitude of problems for her, including migraines, nausea, fainting, seizures, instant sweating, and loss of basic coordination. There currently is no cure for either condition she has. She is able to get up with the use of a walker, but she is at very high risk of fainting. In the last 6 months, she has woken up on the floor 7 times, bruised from face-planting into anything from the granite to the refrigerator and in worse shape. The highest BP I have personally recorded is 256/138 and a heart rate of 142 beats per minute. Stroke level.

I have done some research and have learned that they train dogs to detect and warn her with this specific condition. Check out this video which will explain how much a service dog can impact someone with her condition, as the lady in the video has POTS as well.

These service dogs come at a price and that is where I could use your help. Dogs can cost anywhere between $10,000-$50,000, and we just don't have that ability right now. As a husband, I am only doing what any husband would do in trying to improve her quality of life where currently she lays in bed all day. This is very debilitating and not very fun staring at the same 4 walls everyday all day. She has not driven a car, shopped at a mall, or even gone to the grocery store to buy food. Her condition is too dangerous.

If you don't know Gaylynn, I am here to tell you that she is an absolute angel and deserves more than the hand she has been dealt. She is the kind of person that would help a complete stranger without a second thought, and she is one of the most selfless people I know. Whatever you can give to help us achieve this goal and improve someone's quality of life is greatly appreciated. She needs her spark back and this would absolutely help her.
