A Major Voice in the Yakima Valley is on Life Support – Please Help!
Imagine the next crisis: a wildfire, a flood, or violence at a school. Now imagine that you are a Spanish-speaking resident who needs critical information right away. Where do you turn? To KDNA 91.9FM, of course. As Yakima’s Spanish-speaking radio station, Radio KDNA’s mission is to inform, educate, and empower its listeners. Unfortunately, KDNA lost 40% of its funding when CPB, PBS, and NPR made cuts. This devastating loss means important education and community programs are being cut back, and half the stations’ employees have lost their jobs.
I’m Joy Barton, and when I learned KDNA was on life support, I couldn’t just stand by, and now I’m asking you to stand with me! My goal is to raise $150,000 – enough to restore the programs, renew the team, and build a solid financial future.
This is not a donation to a radio station. This is an investment in our Valley – in the families who harvest our food, raise their children here, and need a trusted voice when life gets hard.
Will you stand with me today at Radio KDNA and help ensure that when the next crisis hits, nobody faces it alone? Your contribution will help save the radio station, support the community, and strengthen the Yakima Valley for all of us. WE CAN MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE HERE!!
Thank you for contributing what you can. Please share this with your friends and family.
