Hello everyone,

It has been difficult for my family and I to even process this, let alone begin to form some sort of game plan, so I’ll do my best to keep this as short as possible, but please bear with me as I try to explain.

Although my son has given me his consent to create this fundraiser on his behalf, he was very hesitant in doing so until his future steps began being dictated to him by his now multiple surgeons and specialists.

My son's name is Iasic and he is only 27 years old. On May 7th 2025, my son paid a visit to the hospital due to some extreme pain in his abdomen. The pain he had been experiencing for several months leading up to the visit had gradually grown worse, and with him not being the type of person to regularly visit doctors or hospitals and no medical insurance, he had previously self-diagnosed himself with a hernia. Unfortunately, we all quickly learned that his diagnosis was wrong.

After being examined in the ER followed by many tests, scans, and bloodwork, he was transferred urgently to Ascension Sacred Heart Bay hospital in Panama City. He was officially diagnosed with testicular cancer and while this situation typically constitutes an appointment for surgery later, he was told he would need emergency surgery to remove a 9.7cm tumor and one of his testicles. Shortly after waking up from surgery in recovery, the on-site nurses noticed some concerning swelling near the incision site and expressed concerns for internal bleeding. He was monitored for a short period of time but eventually needed to undergo a second emergency surgery, which thankfully went well. Following the second surgery, he was required to remain at the hospital for monitoring for multiple days. As you might expect, multiple forms of testing was completed again to determine if he was out of the woods.

You’ve probably figured it out by now, but he is in fact not out of the woods. Although we are still waiting for the full pathology results, his oncologist has confirmed without a doubt that the cancer has already spread and has pre-determined him with stage 2B non-seminoma cancer. We have been told that it is possible for these types of cancer to transform into different forms and are also commonly known to grow rapidly and can spread quickly, but it is still too early to tell so we remain very hopeful this will not be the case. Fortunately, testicular cancer is one of the most treatable versions of cancer, and we are optimistic that he will make a full recovery with enough time, but he will need to be treated with aggressive chemotherapy starting June 2nd for the foreseeable future. Understandably, he will be out of work for a while and unable to even drive during treatment.

Everyone in our family is doing their best to pitch in to help during this difficult journey ahead, but as we all know, medical treatment is expensive, especially cancer treatment, and although his income is rapidly being depleted his living expenses and necessities continue to increase while he is trying to pay for medical care and treatment and he is unable to work for the foreseeable future. We understand that the current economy has been hard on everyone, but if anyone is able to help by donating to his medical expenses amd necessities, it would be greatly appreciated by the entire family. We completely understand if you are unable to donate, but if you cannot, we ask that you please share this fundraiser and keep our family in your thoughts. Prayers are always welcome! Either way, we are all grateful to you for even taking time out of your day to read everything to this point. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions.
