We can use your help in organizing a fitting Celebration of Life for Timothy Osmer. As his partner, Nikki Dohn, I've enlisted my son, Uriah Guilford, to handle the dissemination of funds for this purpose. The Celebration will be held June 21, 2025. From 11am to 1pm we gather indoors at the Jenner Community Club, 10398 Highway One (behind the gas station), Jenner California. Please attend with your contributions--words, stories, songs, dance, or photos. From 1pm to 4pm there will be live music outdoors with the Thugz, Timothy's favorite band. Please see the update below on May 17th to volunteer for one of many activities for the Celebration. We hope you enjoy the updates here, the photos and videos and would love it if you are able to chip in at any level from $5-$10 or more.

We mourn the passing of Timothy Osmer—a remarkable man and unforgettable presence in his off-grid community nestled in the coastal hills of Northern California. Timothy was a beacon of joy, care, hard work, and playful irreverence. To his neighbors, his many friends, and his beloved partner Nikki, he was more than just a man—he was a force of nature. His passionate presence remains a shining reminder of what’s possible when one lives with purpose, vision, and love for both humanity and the planet.

Timothy left this world unexpectedly after a relatively brief illness. And now, we come together to honor the life he lived and the legacy he leaves behind. We are humbly asking for your support to help cover the costs of his memorial celebration and final resting place. His absence has left Nikki—his partner, best friend, and soul mate—grieving deeply while also undergoing her own intensive cancer treatments. Any funds raised beyond memorial costs will go toward supporting Nikki as she navigates this profound loss and her healing journey. Her son, Uriah Guilford, is handling these funds for the Celebration and Timothy's wishes.

Timothy was deeply rooted in his community and the land he cherished. He cared fiercely about the future—of the people, the children, the forests, and the waters that surrounded him there. On his 40-acre homestead, he worked tirelessly to heal the land: restoring heavily logged coastal forests, reviving streambeds, and nurturing life in every form. From trees and vegetables to succulents and flowers, his hands planted beauty and purpose into the earth.

He lived a life of service. He showed up—for his neighbors, for the environment, for justice. He planted trees after fires, shared seeds with hungry Guatemalan families, maintained roads, fundraised for volunteer firefighters, and lent a hand wherever it was needed. Timothy worked with the Salmonid Restoration Federation to advance watershed restoration and recovery of California’s native salmon, steelhead and trout populations. He coached the local co-ed football team, instilling self-confidence in the youth. He protested, he organized, he celebrated. And through it all, he brought people together—with laughter, with vision, with love.

Timothy also knew how to have fun. A true character, he was known for his long grey dreads, his colorful costumes, and his magnetic presence at music festivals and local events. He was a prankster, a philosopher, a storyteller, a friend to strangers. Bold, audacious, and authentic—he made everyone feel seen, heard, and appreciated.

A short video—recorded just a few months before he passed—captures the essence of Timothy, and we are deeply grateful to Quentin Wood for preserving that portal into his spirit. Nikki hopes to carry his voice forward by completing the memoir he began, titled From Gridiron to Off-Grid—a journey from the football fields of Oregon to a life lived wild and true.

If Timothy touched your life—or if his story moves you—we invite you to contribute whatever you can. Your support will help us celebrate a life lived fully, and support the woman who stood beside him through so much. To those of you who have already come forward with assistance, know that you have moved this effort forward and we are very grateful. Thank you for being part of Timothy’s story.

With love and gratitude,
Nikki Dohn & Friends of Timothy Osmer
