We have already raised enough to help together, and have been able to take the first steps.

There will be a memorial open to the community today, the fire was tended by Kate and some helpers and arrangements have been able to be made thanks to your contributions. As we move through this , holding space for our loved ones, we at finding more needs arrise. The goal is to make sure that there are enough funds to secure the property and life they worked for, to make sure Kate has her immediate needs met while grieving and going through the logistics and bureaucracy of such an unexpected and huge life change. I appreciate each and every one of you. My heart feels humbled and expanded by the support I am seeing and feeling here. ❤️❤️

Edit: we have decided to increase the amount to help pay for other needs such as, and urn, the services, and many many other things that will come up. All the money will go directly to the funeral home and to Kate. I am beyond grateful for the outpouring of love and support. Kate is so grateful. She has plans for a memorial in October and will start the fire as soon as the ashes are retrieved. There are meal trains and other things in the works and there has been an enormous amount of support from this community. I am humbled. We need better support systems and rituals in our culture for this. Thank You Let's see what we can do for each other and ourselves...
