My name is Briella Tomassetti. As many of you already know, I am a reporter for Fox 5’s Good Day New York.

On Sunday, May 10th— a beautiful Mother’s Day morning— one of my worst fears became reality. I woke up to the news that my brother’s three friends were involved in a serious car accident the night prior. Within hours, my family learned that all three 20–year-old boys, Gino Vicale, Vincent Cavaliere, and Nicholas Rivera had died at the scene. They were traveling eastbound on Stymus Avenue in a 2022 Dodge Durango when they slammed into a tree at 1am. As a reporter, I have become all too skilled at masking the pain when I report on these stories. This time, it hit home. Hard. Gino, Vin, and Nick were all Plainedge High School graduates. Gino was class clown, Vin was a standout football star, and Nick was my brother Giovanni’s best friend who had gotten him through some of his roughest times. He was a gym rat and looking forward to starting his MMA career. These boys had such bright futures and their whole lives ahead of them. No parent should ever have to bury their child. Now, these boys’ families are living the unthinkable. Please consider donating whatever you can to help them get through this unbelievably difficult time. All money will go toward funeral and burial expenses, split evenly between all three families via cashier’s checks. We are— and always will be— #PlainedgeStrong.

Fly high Gino, Vin and Nick. We love you.
