Donate to Honor Colorado Marines with a Historic USMC Jeep
Donation protected
Hello, I am Sean Maday. I just completed a four-year term as Vice Chair of the Colorado Board of Veterans Affairs. One of the greatest honors of serving Colorado on this board was working with the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado.
This beautiful facility in Grand Junction provides a dignified final resting place for our military veterans. One of the cemetery's most meaningful offerings is dignified transport for veterans, from their committal service at the cemetery to their final resting place, via historic military Jeeps.
If a veteran is being buried, their casket is respectfully pulled behind the Jeep on a trolley to their gravesite. If they are cremated, their remains ride in honor in the passenger seat to the columbarium. It is a deeply moving and very special part of their final send-off.
Today, the cemetery has three historic Jeeps: an Army Jeep, a Navy Jeep, and an Air Force Jeep. They are missing one historic Jeep, a Marine Corps Jeep. Right now, Marines are transported using the Navy Jeep, and while respectful, every Marine deserves that final ride in a vehicle bearing Marine Corps heritage.
I am asking for your help to purchase a historic Marine Corps Jeep that we will donate to the cemetery. There is a Jeep available right now in Colorado Springs. With your donation, we will purchase this Jeep, give it a proper tune up and detailing, then transport it over the Rockies to Grand Junction, Colorado where it will serve with honor.
Every Marine who served our country deserves a final ceremony that reflects the pride of the United States Marine Corps. Help us complete this mission and ensure that no Marine’s legacy is forgotten.
Let's get this done.
