My name is HollyAnn Hollister. I'm writing because I recently found out I needed a lung transplant. It started with COVID, which led to asthma, COPD, and long COVID. As the months went by, my lung function continued to decrease. I received treatment but without much effect. I was hopeful to receive Zephyr valves, which could have helped me breathe, but I was told that they were no longer an option as my condition had worsened. I was in shock when my doctor told me I would need a lung transplant, as I had never even considered it.

I am over 225 miles one way from the hospital that will be doing the surgery and will have to make constant trips for all the testing and finally the surgery. I have a caregiver but will need to rent a car, gas, tolls, food, and medical bills. I have insurance, but it won't cover everything. I worked until I was forced to quit because of my disability and always paid my own way, but that's no longer an option. If you can please help, all I can offer is my thanks and prayers.
