My dog Henry recently had a sudden abdominal and intestinal obstruction that required emergency surgery. During the operation, the veterinarians discovered part of his small intestine had been damaged, and some of it had to be removed to save his life.

While the surgery went well, Henry experienced complications afterward and had to remain in the hospital longer than expected. His surgery cost $10,000, and each additional night in the hospital is around $1,000 — expenses I truly wasn’t prepared for.

If you know Henry, you know he is the sweetest, friendliest boy. He loves people, loves to play, and absolutely lives for attention and affection. Seeing him go through this has been heartbreaking, but he’s fighting hard and hopefully will be getting stronger every day.
