Sometimes bad things happen to good people. Over and over again… Why? It’s the one question I’ve asked myself my whole life.

Usually, these good people don’t know how to ask for help because they’re not used to getting it, or they’re too busy helping others to ask for help themselves. One thing we all have in common as humans is that we ALL need help sometimes.

One of these “good people” is a best friend of mine. She’s one of the strongest women I know, she’s been through hell and back several times and lives to tell about it. She’s one of the hardest-working people I know. She can outwork me anytime, anywhere and quite literally has.

She’s been by my side for 15 years. She’s celebrated every milestone and has helped me through many of my shitstorms.

She’s also been there for many others unconditionally. One in particular - her mother, which this is mainly about... A single mom, who raised 2 children on her own. Working hard to make an honest living. Reminds me a lot of my mom.

Yes, my friend is a badass. But, her mom is on another level. I’m sure that’s where she gets it from.

This woman works 18 hours a day, every day - no days off. I’ve witnessed it many times and it has left me in awe. She has several jobs, some during the day and some at night. When does she sleep? Again, I’m being reminded of my mom.

I’ve never seen her sad, until today. I’ve never seen her truly tired, until today. This superwoman is human and is going through one of the hardest things in life - the loss of her husband to cancer.

She was his sole caregiver and breadwinner. She worked so hard to take care of him. Now he’s gone and she’s at my house working (cleaning). No time to grieve because she stays strong and continues working. No, this isn’t right! Not everyone can be strong all the time.

If you’re reading this, I hope you’re lucky enough to have a mom like this. A real role model and example of how strong we can be as women. It may even remind you of yourself, one of your friends, or maybe even your mother.

As you can imagine this is extremely stressful. From emotions, work, finances - the list goes on… So, I’m asking you to help me help her. She has never asked me for help and she’s more than deserving of it.
