Hello!
My name is Yasuko Yabuki, and I have the opportunity to join a university travel study trip to Nairobi and Eldoret, Kenya, from April 27th to May 16th. Alongside fellow students and professors who have lived and served in Africa, I will be learning from more than ten local businesses and ministries. This trip combines my studies in accounting with hands-on learning, service, and cross-cultural discipleship.
What I’m Raising Funds For
I am raising funds to cover the $10,088 CAD total cost of this travel study. Every dollar raised directly supports my participation in this travel study, which includes:
Airfare (airfare, in-country transportation)
Lodging and meals
Visa and required documentation
Tuition and academic program fees
These expenses are beyond what I can afford on my own, and I am required to raise $1,000 CAD by January 15th, with the remainder due in monthly installments starting April 15th.
If it is more convenient, I am also accepting through e-transfer at [email redacted].
Why This Trip Is Important to Me
This trip aligns deeply with my story and calling. Growing up as the daughter of missionaries, I learned what it means to live by faith, serve others, and witness God’s heart for the nations. Studying accounting, my desire is to use business skills to support communities, empower people, and create opportunities where others can thrive with the gifts God has given them.
My parents, who are pastors in Tokyo, work multiple jobs to help support my education abroad. Their sacrifices inspire me, and I want to steward their efforts well. This trip is a meaningful step in my calling to serve others and to use my education for God’s glory.
Your support will allow me to learn from local Kenyan entrepreneurs and ministries, participate in meaningful service, and grow in my ability to use business wisely and compassionately for God’s glory.
