Wrongly accused in freak accident

Monica was involved in a tragic car accident this week with fatal consequences. I am grateful to say, Moni and her car were untouched, as a semi-truck barreled through a busy intersection where the massive truck lost control, striking a parked vehicle.
Monica's dear friend and her baby were the unfortunate souls in that parked vehicle when the semi-truck slammed into them, sending their infant child, Monica's goddaughter, to the hospital where the baby eventually passed away.
Why do I say it's a freak accident? Because Monica and her friends were there by total coincidence, both going to shop at local roadside shops. In fact, Monica did not know her friends were there until the impact occurred.
Unfortunately, Monica witnessed the ensuing horror. Compounding this nightmare, the tractor-trailer driver chose Monica as the one responsible for his actions.
Because the truck driver chose her as the scapegoat, she was interviewed by the police, her car was impounded and she was forced to hire a lawyer to defend and declare her innocence.
It is for this reason that we are soliciting financial support from you. We simply can’t afford to pay the impound fees ($1200) to liberate her car and pay the attorney fees ($3,500), as she fights to prove her innocence and not be financially responsible for the property damage or be legally charged with the untimely death of that innocent child.
Financial times are rough for everyone, so any amount you can contribute to this cause will be greatly appreciated.

Queridas amigas y amigos,
Mónica estuvo involucrada en un trágico accidente automovilístico esta semana, con consecuencias fatales. Estoy agradecido por el hecho de que ella salió ilesa y su automóvil no tuvo daños, ya que no alcanzó a ser tocado por el semirremolque que atravezaba la concurrida intersección donde ocurrió el evento. Unos instantes después, el enorme camión perdió el control y golpeó a un vehículo estacionado al borde de la carretera.
Una querida amiga de Mónica y su bebé fueron las almas desafortunadas que se encontraban a bordo de ese vehículo estacionado cuando el camión se estrelló contra ellos, enviando a la bebé, que además era ahijada de Mónica, al hospital donde finalmente falleció.
¿Por qué digo que fue extraño este accidente? Porque Mónica y la familia perjudicada coincidieron allí por mera casualidad, ambas yendo de compras a las tiendas locales al borde de la carretera. De hecho, Mónica no sabía que sus amigos estaban allí hasta que ocurrió el impacto.
Para agravar esta pesadilla, el conductor del camión con remolque eligió a Mónica para responsabilizarla de su terrible imprudencia.
Debido a que el camionero la señaló como chivo expiatorio, fue entrevistada por la policía, le confiscaron el auto y la obligaron a contratar a un abogado para que la defendiera y declarara su inocencia.
Es por esta razón que estamos solicitando su apoyo financiero. Simplemente no estamos en posibilidad de pagar la tarifa de incautación ($20,000-NMX) para liberar su automóvil más los honorarios del abogado ($60,000-NMX), ya que ella está abocada a sobreponerse y demostrar su inocencia, para así evitar que se le señale como responsable por el daño a la propiedad o ser acusada jurídicamente por el trágico fallecimiento de esa niña inocente.
Entendemos que la situacion economica de cada persona es muy diversa. Cualquier cantidad que puedas aportar a esta causa será muy apreciada.
