Donate to help with funeral and medical expenses

Hi my name is Heather and I’m starting this go fund me for my nephews funeral expenses. My nephew Ethan Renteria was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia back in February of 2021. Ethan did a round of chemo and was in remission and doing great up until November of 2022 when his parents got the news that he had relapsed. Ethan entered the hospital on Nov 5th 2022 to start treatment. Ethan spent his 11th B Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year in his hospital bed with his parents by his side. Ethan went through several different chemo’s in the last five months and none of them were working. Roxanne and Junior were told over and over again that the treatments weren’t working. Finally some good news Ethan was chosen to be a candidate for a T Cell procedure. On March 7th Ethan had a procedure that removed his T Cells from his blood. The T Cells were then sent to Seattle were they would go through some experiments. Ethan’s parents were told it would take up to five weeks before they would receive his T Cells back. As our hopes were high that this treatment was going to work Ethan hit yet again another obstacle. On March 21st Ethan got a fever. After running some test his parents were told Ethan had a blood Infection. Ethan started having trouble breathing and was intubated on the morning of March 22nd. On the morning of March 23rd my sister and brother in-law called the family and let us all know Ethan wasn’t doing well and the hospital was allowing the family in to see him. Ethan passed at the young age of 11 on March 23rd 2023.

Ethan spent the last five months in the hospital with just his mom Roxanne and dad Junior by his bedside. Unfortunately due to hospital restrictions and just Ethan’s immune system alone no one was allowed to visit. Roxanne has been out of work for the last five months. As Ethan’s health was declining Junior also stopped working to spend more time at his bedside.

As Roxanne and Junior try to cope with the devastating loss of their loving baby boy my hope is that everyone can find it in their heart to donate to Ethan’s medical and funeral expenses. We definitely understand that everyone has their own obstacles they are going through and if you can’t help at this time we just ask if you could please repost and share Ethan’s story.

Ethan leaves behind his Mom Roxanne, Dad Junior, Sisters Alana and Ava as well as Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and his dog Coco.

Thank you all for your love and support during this difficult time.
