Donate to help with Memorial Fund

Update: all future funds raised will be going to my Grandmother's Memorial Fund! After receiving all the help here and offline we were able to get the rest taken care.
Hi, my name is Megan and I'm raising money for 2 reasons. The first is to help with the final expenses for my Grandmother Teresa Daigle. She's 96 and one of the most amazing women anyone could ever have had the pleasure to meet. I had the honor of being her granddaughter and the even greater honor of caring for her the last 5 years. This pandemic really took its toll on her and she quickly went from an independent lady who worked until she was 80. To someone who needed help with the little things. Her dementia really showed itself after the first year of forced isolation due to the global pandemic. I couldn't work because she needed someone not just taking care of her but watching her. Cleaning, feeding, dressing, bathing any part of taking care of yourself became my responsibility and I took it on willingly and lovingly. She is now at home on Hospice and doesn't have very long left. This has been the hardest 5 years of my life and the end is the most heart breaking.
Bringing me to the 2nd reason I'm raising money. I haven't worked in years and still can't because I'm still here caring for her til the end. Due to this, when she goes so does my ability to pay the rent. My son is now 18 and will be attending Berkeley on scholarship this upcoming fall. I would like to be able to keep a roof over his head and make his transition to college as smooth as possible after going through all of this with me and his great grandmother. That means I'll need to cover almost $3000 a month for July, August and September. Our lease isn't up until February of next year. All of this really came out of left field and was entirely unexpected. As often death does.
My grandmother was a woman who gave everything she had to the church. She started programs to feed the homeless in our small hometown in RI. She was voted citizen of the Month in 2007. She is such an amazing woman she's even donating herself to science when she goes. I'd like to be able to go back to RI from California so we can hold a memorial service for her at her church where she worshiped and worked for 60 years St Philip's Parish. Anything anyone can do to help would be beyond appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to consider her and us and please keep us in your prayers.
