On April 26th, I received the worst call of my life letting me know that my mother had passed away. Words cannot even begin to describe how devastated I am. My mother was my best friend and the brightest light in my life. She was the person that I could speak to about anything and everything. She was always there for me no matter what. She gave the biggest hugs, and had the brightest personality of anyone I’ve ever known. She was the most comforting soul whose smile brightened up any room making you feel lighter. Her laughter and bright spirits will be something that I always remember. I would give anything on this earth to be able to spend another day with her and knowing that I can’t ever hear her voice telling me she loves me, to hear her talk about her day, or feel her warm embrace once more crushes my soul. This will be the first birthday where she isn’t calling me immediately to sing to me, the first Mother’s Day without my mom, the first of many holidays and milestones that I was excited to spend with her. She will be deeply loved and missed by so many people.
