My name is Craig. Sandy is my wife who has been diagnosed with a rare Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) High Risk.
Sandy has been unable to work due to the effects of the treatments. There is a very real situation where we will have to stay at John Hopkins for two months in special recovery housing for a fee, all while keeping up our house in Lusby, MD for our autistic daughter.
Complicating this is the need to retrofit the HVAC system to allow for better filtering of the particles in the house.
This is due to Sandy not having a working immune system after the stem cell transplant. As a result, any germ, cold virus or other bacteria of no consequence to us could be deadly to Sandy.¹
We are very grateful for our friends and others who have contributed. Whatever you can contribute will be one step closer to winning this fight for Sandy's future!!
