Donate to help with baby Cara’s medical costs

Sweet baby Cara came into this world December 6th, 2022. Her due date was April 4th, 2023. She weighed around one pound when she was born and the doctors didn’t expect her to even make it through birth. But despite the many, many odds that have been against her, and with limitless support from her incredibly strong and loving mom and dad, Alexis and Brennan, she’s made it past her due date.

However, due to her extreme prematurity, her life of being hooked up to machines will persist for an unforeseen amount of time. Cara will unfortunately face life-long health problems, and just recently received a tracheotomy made necessary by chronic lung disease. She will be at Mcmaster’s until at least December, and will require 24/7 medical care indefinitely. Her yearly medical bills will be roughly $15,000 once they get home, unfunded.

I could not be more proud of her parents, one of them being my best friend since childhood. And though I wish I could do more to help the situation for them, I’d like to at least reach out to anyone and everyone who will listen, and ask for a small donation to help with the financial aspects of this devastating turn of events. The last few months have been anguish for the family, and help in any area can go such a long way.

Times are tough and many of us are struggling financially.
